Toontown Online is a 3D massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) developed by Disney's Virtual Reality Studio. Here you will create and roleplay a Toon and fight invading cogs to keep your world a happy one. The game is free, although it is completely online.

Toontown Online is an online game made for kids. With this, do not expect action-packed battles against enemies. Instead, you will fight them using gags as weapons. Additionally, your health meter is based on your character's happiness. However, while this will suffice for kids, older players will find it boring over time. 

How do you play the game?

In Toontown Online, you will start by creating your character called Toons. You can customize your Toon in various sizes, shapes, and colors. Each Toon can also be any species, including cats, dogs, ducks, mice, pigs, rabbits, and bears. Once done, you can choose a name and enter a big online world. Here, you can go on various quests or play open-ended style matches to level up and become stronger.

As mentioned, the game revolves around fighting cogs—robots who wish to turn the fun world into a corporate machine. However, you will not fight with weapons and attacks. Instead, you will throw gags. Cogs hate laughter, and getting them to laugh makes them unstable and explodes. However, combat takes place in a turn-based style. Cog attacks can make you sad and lose the match.

More than fighting cogs, you can also have fun by interacting with other players. Toontown Online comes with a chat feature, connecting you with other players. However, as this is a kids' game, you cannot use any kind of foul language or any sort of offensive remarks. The open chat also requires a parent password, while the speed chat option only uses kid-friendly premade remarks.

Should you play it?

Overall, Toontown Online is a charming and enjoyable online game for children. Everything here is simple, from the character creation to the combat against the cog. Players need only use simple button presses and mouse clicks. Not only that, but it also lets you interact with other players via its chatting feature. However, due to its simplicity and lack of action, it can be boring to an older audience.
